Through Hell & Back – MMD Construction Rises to the Challenge for a Vital Cause
On Saturday, June 7th, a determined team from MMD Construction took on one of Ireland’s toughest endurance events, Hell & Back, and came out the other side stronger, prouder, and muddier than ever.
Hosted on the stunning grounds of Killruddery Estate, this wasn’t just an obstacle course. It was a true test of strength, grit, resilience, and, most importantly, team spirit. From icy plunges and electric shocks to swamp crawls and scaling high walls, the course demanded the very best of every participant. And together, we delivered.
But this was not just about physical endurance. We were proud to take on this challenge in support of The Lighthouse Charity, a vital organisation providing mental health, emotional, and financial support to construction workers and their families across Ireland and the UK. Every obstacle overcome, helped raise awareness and funds for a cause that truly matters. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported our team along the way.
A Huge Thank You
A special thanks to our participants, who showed true resilience and camaraderie throughout the day. The teamwork on display, lifting, guiding, and supporting each other, is exactly what defines our culture at MMD.
And to our bakers and supporters back at our head office who helped raise funds through the office Pot Luck and donations, we couldn’t have done it without you. To our sites, who got behind the team with coffee mornings and donations, thank you.
Looking Ahead
The mud may have washed off, but the memories, and impact, remain. We are already planning our next team challenge, driven by the same spirit of community, wellbeing, and purpose that defines everything we do at MMD Construction.
Here is to lifting each other up, on-site and off.
