Hollyhill Group Housing Scheme – Cork

MMD Construction was the main contractor and also the Project Supervisor Construction Stage for this project. Being the PCSC saw MMD manage all the health and safety aspects during the construction period. MMD construction worked very closely with Cork City Council appointed Clerk of Works who was present full time on the site. This project consisted of the construction of 16 houses, a community centre and all associated external works at Hollyhill, Cork City. This housing scheme showcases an environmentally friendly construction strategy. An A2 building energy rating was specified and achieved with the housing project. The topography of the area was varying so the substructure varied from a standard strip foundation in some of the buildings to very deep foundations with up to 3m deep of leanmix and also piling with raft slabs for other buildings.
