This project consisted of the Construction of 49 no. A-Rated residential units, comprising of 28 no. 2-bedroom houses, 16 no. 3 bedroom houses, and 5 no. 4 bedroom houses, together with all associated site works including 2 no. access roads, partial removal of existing hedgerows, construction of substantial retaining walls and landscaping.

MMD Constcuction was the main Contractor and the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) for the works at Kilnagleary, Carrigaline. As PSCS, MMD Construction had the responsibility of managing and coordinating all health and safety matters during the construction of the housing development which was located within a busy suburban area. The works were carried out in phases to allow phased occupancy of the units. All works were completed in accordance with the contract documents and complied with all statutory requirements including the Building Control Regulations and the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.

The site was located within a very busy area, surrounded by Carrigaline GAA Club, Carrigaline Educate Together School, Edmond Rice College, Carrigaline Tennis Club, and a number of housing estates. The MMD Construction Site Management Team liaised very closely with all neighbouring stakeholders and the on-site Clerk of Works to ensure that the works would not cause any disruption. The development shared an access road with Edmund Rice College and the Carrigaline Educate Together School. This shared access road resulted in the requirement for very careful coordination of construction traffic because of road works which formed part of the Works Requirements. As a result, a detailed Traffic Management Plan was generated prior to the works commencing, and this was implemented for the duration of the project.
