MMD Construction Celebrates World Championship Victory with Team #109 Retro Traffic Kove
MMD Construction is honoured to share in the incredible story of Team #109, a team that was born from both passion and purpose.
Team #109 was founded in memory of Sean Hurley, a talented young rider from Ballinhassig, Co. Cork who was a valued member of the MMD Construction team before he tragically passed away in 2011 at just 25 years old. Sean’s dream was to reach the pinnacle of motorcycle racing, and his spirit lives on through Team #109 — created by his parents and close friends to continue his legacy and support the next generation of riders.
What began as a tribute has grown into a world-class racing team, inspiring others to chase their ambitions with determination, courage, and heart. That connection — between people, purpose, and performance — is exactly what makes MMD Construction proud to stand alongside Team #109.
MMD Construction is thrilled to celebrate the phenomenal success of Team #109 Retro Traffic Kove, who have claimed the 2025 FIM Supersport 300 World Championship title with Benat Fernandez in a dramatic, history-making season finale at Jerez, Spain.
As proud sponsors of Team #109, we couldn’t be prouder to stand behind a team that embodies the very same qualities that drive MMD Construction every day — precision, performance, teamwork, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Members of the MMD Construction team were in Jerez to witness the unforgettable finale and were delighted to celebrate trackside with the Team #109 crew as the championship title was sealed — a moment of immense pride shared by everyone connected to the team.
At just 17 years old, Spanish rider Benat Fernandez made history, clinching the World Championship in his rookie season — and in the final year of the WorldSSP300 series. Fernandez’s victory marks not only his first world title, but also the first-ever World Championship for both Team #109 and the Chinese manufacturer Kove.
In a nail-biting Race 2 at Jerez, Fernandez seized the lead going into the final corner, holding his nerve to cross the line first, and claim the title — in front of an electrified crowd.
“It was unbelievable,” he said after the race. “The team never stopped believing, even when things got tough. We gave everything.”
This title win cements Team #109’s reputation as a world-class outfit, and MMD Construction is proud to have played a part in their incredible story. It’s a partnership built on mutual ambition, shared values, and a belief in people — the same principles that continue to guide MMD Construction every day.
We’re excited to continue supporting Team #109 as they push new limits, develop new technologies, and showcase what’s possible when passion meets precision.
