Check-Ins, Coffee & Cones – Supporting Men’s Health Week at MMD
At MMD Construction, supporting our people goes beyond the job, it is about creating a culture where wellbeing and connection are part of everyday life.
To mark Men’s Health Week and support our recent charity fundraiser, we brought teams together for coffee mornings and a few surprise visits from the ice cream van. These small moments spark connection, lift spirits, and encourage us all to pause, reflect, and check in, with ourselves and with each other.
Moments That Matter
The construction industry is built on hard work and resilience, but it can also be intense and isolating at times. Men’s Health Week is an important reminder that real strength includes openness, self-care, and supporting those around us, whether that’s through a quiet conversation or a shared laugh over a 99.
While we rightly focus on healthy eating, physical fitness, and productivity, we also recognise the importance of balance. A simple coffee break or an unexpected treat on a sunny day can do more than boost morale, it can create space for conversation and connection.
Looking Ahead
Our focus on wellbeing doesn’t stop with Men’s Health Week. We are proud to be rolling out free medical health checks and winter flu vaccines again this year as part of our continued commitment to keeping our teams healthy, informed, and supported.
We are also continuing our work with The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, who offer vital mental health and wellbeing support tailored to those working in our industry. As we look ahead, we will be building on this partnership to raise awareness, provide resources, and ensure our people know that support is always within reach, whether on site or off.
Our recent events have brought together teams from across offices and sites, offering a chance to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime. We have included a few of our favourite photos below. Thanks to everyone who took part, and to those who helped organise and support these meaningful initiatives. Together, these steps help us foster a culture where wellbeing is part of how we work, not just something we talk about.
