Dignity, Respect & Communication Workshop at MMD

Last week we welcomed Donna Breen back to MMD to deliver a workshop focused on dignity, respect and communication, as part of our ongoing commitment to wellbeing and a positive workplace culture.

The session brought colleagues together to reflect on how everyday interactions contribute to a respectful and supportive working environment. Through practical discussion and shared experiences, it reinforced how small, day-to-day actions can have a meaningful impact on team morale and overall wellbeing.

A strong theme throughout was the role of clear and effective communication, particularly in a busy and fast-paced environment. Being mindful of how and when we communicate can support better collaboration, strengthen team dynamics and help create a more inclusive workplace.

The workshop also highlighted the importance of inclusion and connection across teams. Recognising and valuing different perspectives helps to build stronger relationships and ultimately leads to better outcomes.

An interactive element of the session invited individuals to reflect on people who have positively influenced them, highlighting how simple actions, such as listening, showing respect, and including others, can leave a lasting impact. This tied into a simple but powerful message “Give respect, get respect” a GAA initiative.

At MMD, our core values of People, Respect, Teamwork, Excellence, Safety, Innovation and Sustainability continue to guide how we work and support one another. This session was a positive step in continuing to build a workplace where respect, communication, and teamwork are at the core of everything we do.
