West Cork Arts Centre

MMD Construction was the main Contractor and the Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) for the works at the West Cork Arts Centre.

As the PSCS, MMD Construction had the responsibility of managing and co-ordinating all health and safety matters during construction. All works were completed in accordance with the contract documents and complied with all statutory requirements including the Building Control Regulations and the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.

This project consisted of the construction of a new arts centre providing 980m² of accommodation over 6 stories on a brownfield site situated in Skibbereen, Co. Cork. The accommodation included galleries, performance spaces/dance studios, artists’ studios, workspaces, administration offices, and back of house facilities. External hard landscaping and a bridge across Caol stream also formed part of the works.
