ALDI Douglas

MMD Construction was the Main Contractor and PSCS for the demolition of an existing cinema complex and the construction of a new retail development. The new works include the construction and fitout of a new ALDI discount food store including 3 no. retail units and associated site works at Douglas, Cork. Featuring Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh layout and design, the new store boasts a large shop floor spanning over 1,000m², wide aisles and hi-spec finishes. Sustainability is ingrained in the design of the new store, which will be powered by 52 Photovoltaic solar panels located on the roof along with 100% green electricity.

Included in the works package was the construction of a new access road to the rear of the site.

Due to the restricted nature of the site, careful pedestrian and traffic management measures were carefully considered.
