Mercy University Hospital

MMD Construction has commenced the refurbishment of St Clare’s Ward at Mercy University Hospital, Cork. The project will transform the former Children’s Ward on the hospital’s fourth floor into a renewed inpatient ward.

The works involve stripping out the existing layout, finishes and services before fitting out the ward with single and double bed areas, a nurse base, clean utility, showers and toilets. The project also includes the necessary drainage, water and electrical connections to the existing hospital systems.

Delivering the refurbishment within an operational hospital requires careful planning and coordination with Mercy University Hospital, particularly where works connect to live services and areas outside the ward.
