Wood Manufacturing & Finishing Apprentice

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Wood Manufacturing & Finishing Apprentice to join our team and develop practical skills and experience within the construction industry.

Our apprenticeship programme is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge, training, and mentorship required to become a qualified craftsperson. You will work alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects while completing the relevant apprenticeship training.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is looking to build a long-term career in the construction industry.

Duties

  • Work alongside experienced mentors and tradespeople on construction projects.
  • Assist with the measurement, cutting, shaping, assembly, and installation of timber and wood-based materials.
  • Learn to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and measurements.
  • Learn the correct and safe use of hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.
  • Measure and prepare materials accurately while minimising waste.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to a high standard.
  • Follow all site health and safety procedures and instructions.
  • Work effectively with supervisors, tradespeople, subcontractors, and other members of the project team.
  • Attend and successfully complete all required apprenticeship training and assessments.
  • Develop practical skills and technical knowledge throughout the apprenticeship.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as required as part of your training and development.

Requirements

  • Genuine interest in wood manufacturing, and the construction industry.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new practical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • Comfortable working in a practical construction-site environment.
  • Previous construction or woodworking experience is beneficial but not essential.
