About the Role

MMD Construction is seeking a Foreman (Finishing) to supervise and coordinate all finishing elements on site in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and Irish construction standards. The successful candidate will ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all finishing activities, including internal and external finishes.
    • Interpret and implement architectural and construction drawings, ensuring works are carried out to design and specification.
    • Ensure full compliance with Irish Building Regulations and BCAR where applicable.
    • Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, resource requirements and sequencing of finishing trades to meet project deadlines.
    • Work closely with the Site Manager and Site Engineer to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely completion of works.
    • Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure all finishes meet quality expectations.
    • Oversee snagging and de-snagging processes to ensure timely project handover.
    • Maintain accurate daily records of labour, progress, and quality inspections.
    • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures at all times.
    • Support the Quality Control process, ensuring inspections and handover documentation are completed as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role on finishing works particularly in residential/ housing projects.
    • Strong understanding of internal and external finishing trades and sequencing.
    • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and direct labour effectively.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and method statements.
    • Solid knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and Construction Regulations 2013.
    • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
    • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and project delivery.
    • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.
