Project Manager – Internal Fit Out (Healthcare / Hospital Project)

MMD Construction Cork are seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead an internal fit-out construction project, with a strong initial focus on healthcare and hospital environments. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, growth-focused team and play a key role in delivering technically complex projects to the highest standards.

The initial role will be based in the Mallow vicinity, with travel to other project sites across Cork and Munster as required by business needs.

Location: Initial project in Mallow area; future assignments across Munster as per business needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and deliver internal fit-out projects with a strong emphasis on hospital and healthcare settings.
  • Coordinate project execution to meet health & safety, quality, budget, and programme targets.
  • Interpret construction drawings and technical specifications, ensuring clarity and compliance on site.
  • Monitor resource allocation, ensuring efficient deployment of labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulatory and quality standards including BC(A)R.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and design teams to deliver cohesive project outcomes.
  • Prepare and update detailed project programmes and progress reports using project management software.
  • Track and report on project metrics, ensuring that project documentation and sign-offs are maintained.
  • Oversee delivery of all elements of the fit-out lifecycle, from shell to commissioning, including clinical spaces.
  • Maintain clear and consistent client communication, offering proactive problem-solving and updates.
  • Drive quality control initiatives on site
  • Ensure health and safety legislation is upheld at all times.

 

 

Key Requirements

  • Third-Level Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 7–10 years’ project management experience, with at least 3–5 years in internal fit-outs, preferably within hospitals or healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to manage live site environments and phased delivery within occupied? healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with infection control standards, medical gases, clean rooms, and clinical M&E installations is a strong advantage.?
  • Strong working knowledge of construction materials, sequencing, and modern fit-out methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar).
  • Self-motivated and highly organised with excellent attention to detail and deadline focus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety and continuous professional development.
  • Full clean driving licence required.
