MMD Construction Cork Ltd. has recently been awarded the Contracts for works to be carried out on the LE Aoife & LE Orla Naval Service Ships. These two new contracts adds to our current profile of works carried out on the Naval Services Fleet. Previous projects with the Naval Service include: LE Roisín & LE Niamh.

The Lake area has recently been completed and fully shrubbed and planted

Works are ongoing at Strawberry Hill Boys National School, Cork City. All students & staff have been made aware of all Health & Safety Issues regarding Construction on Site through the Health & Safety Talk that was held on site before works commenced.This was a great success with all students showing great enthusiasm.

The company has recently won several new building contracts especially in the once off housing sector. The areas where these houses are to be built range from Kinsale to Bantry to Monkstown. One of these one off houses based in Kinsale, has recently been completed. Works have recently commenced on renovating the Old Fishmarket Wall surrounding the Blue Haven Hotel in Kinsale, Co. Cork. This wall dates back to 1784 & is of considerable cultural heritage merit which bears testament to Kinsales past as an important fishing port. The Blue Haven Management have put three longs years of research into restoring this historical feature in Kinsale Town Centre back to its original glory by restoring the original openings, archways & wall finishes. Please note that business is as usual for the hotel & there are no internal disruptions to business. 

Works are near completion on the development of 3 Commercial Units with apartments overhead at Donnybrook Hill in Douglas, Cork. MMD Construction was employed to carry out the role of fully completing these units & apartments. These works included Project Management of Mechanical & Electrical elements & the commissioning of same. Completion of external facade with regards to limestone cladding & lead work. The installation of windows & doors, provision of Site boundaries & other associated works. All works are due to be finished by the end of February 2010.

Works are due to start on Monday 15th of February 2010 in Desmond College in Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick. These works are in conjunction with Limerick VEC. A Safety Talk was carried out with Staff & Students on Wednesday 10th February on site. All parties were informed of the importance of Safety Awareness on a live site. This talk was carried out by Damian Harrington -MMD Safety & Environmental Manager.

Works commenced in August of this year on the North Monastery Secondary School, Cork. The project included Electrical & Building works on a live site.

Works have been completed on the Western Gatehouse, Royal Gunpowder Mills in Ballincollig. This work is in conjunction with Cork County Council.

Works have been recently carried out & completed on the LE Niamh for the Naval Forces. All works were carried out in a three weeks turnaround & in a tight live working environment.
