Health & Safety Policies

Health and safety is a fundamental part of the company's philosophy. MMD Construction Cork Ltd undertakes the role of project supervisor construction stage (PSCS) it has additional responsibilities for the management of safety on site. MMD Construction Cork Ltd fully recognises the duties placed upon it under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2005, the Construction Regulations 2006 and all other relevant legislation.

The organisation is committed to ensuring it at least complies with the minimum requirements and wherever reasonably practicable shall exceed them. The company has a dedicated safety department.

Our Site Foremen, in conjunction with the safety officer, are responsible for implementation and operation of the safety management system on their sites.  Each Site Foreman has completed the managing safety in construction & inspection of scaffolding courses. In addition to this each site has at least one first aider. At MMD Construction Cork Ltd we insist that all sub contractors working under our control follow all site rules and procedures that are in place.

Independent external audits are performed by an independant third party safety contracing company, these are carried out on all sites either on a weekly or monthly basis. All sites are subjected to internal house safety audits on a regular basis performed by the safety officer.

In August 2007 MMD Construction Cork Ltd was awarded the Safe-T-Cert . This certification is recognised by the Construction Industry Federation (CIF). MMD Construction Cork Ltd is an approved ISO-18001 International Safety Standard, approved firm. Certification was achieved in 2009.
