One Off House - Courtmacsherry, Co. Cork
This project consisted of the construction of a new unique two storey dwelling at Broadstrand, Courtmacsherry, Co. Cork. The initial ground investigations revealed that there were old foundations and hardcore to be overcome. The architect on the project specified that the floor level of the new dwelling was to be above the road level at the entry of the house. therefore a degree of filling was to be done on site
Features of the build include the following
standard reinforced strio foundations
insulated rising walls
First floor construction consisted of the placement of a 200mm Ducon slab
Diagonal roof bracing in the form of steel straps was incorporated. The timber for the roof trusses and purlins were of superior quality. All associated works including drainage, site development and landscaping were also completed as part of the contract.
